Attorney Natasha Meyers Wins Temporary Residential Custody for a Father without a Hearing

No matter how difficult the case, we have been able to provide sterling representation to protect our clients' rights. This includes cases that involve child custody. One of the most vital things in a divorce is to secure the best future for your child. At the Meyers Law Group, P.C., we understand that. We also understand that fathers have the exact same rights to child custody, and happily, New York courts are striving to see things in a gender-neutral manner as well. Of course, child custody is far from simple, and this issue can lead to protracted and bitter battles in court. One of the most hotly contested issues in a divorce, child custody requires an exceptionally skilled divorce attorney to handle the case.

We can bring this high level of expertise and skill, all the way to a Supreme Court if necessary. Just recently, in a case that is in the Suffolk Supreme Court, Attorney Natasha Meyers succeeded in protecting a father's rights. The father and mother of five children had been separated for nearly 2 years and are now in the midst of divorce proceedings. In the meantime, Attorney Meyers obtained temporary residential custody for the father of the parties remaining unemancipated minor children and obtained a Court Order allowing the children to remain with their father and attend their new school in the father's school district. Attorney Meyers was prepared with an expertly crafted Order to Show Cause which sought temporary relief, including temporary residential custody of the minor children. Without a hearing, based on the papers submitted to the Court and the appearance of Attorney Meyers and her client, the judge awarded the father temporary residential custody after oral arguments. Now her client's 12-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter will remain enrolled in their new school and will continue to live in Nassau County with their father pending further order of the Court. The father is extremely grateful to be represented by such a prepared advocate with an "incredible work ethic", as he put it.

If you are facing a divorce or a custody dispute, you need to find the best divorce lawyer that you can. The rest of your family's future is on the line. Contact The Meyers Law Group, P.C. to find out how our experience and dedication can help you.
