Famous Singer Gets Custody of Grandchild

A famous chanteuse will be assuming custody of her young granddaughter after learning that the little girl's mother suffers from several drug addictions.

While the singer may have known about the drug abuse before, it appears that it reached such a level that she felt the young girl was at serious risk with her mother. As a result, the grandmother petitioned the court for child custody, asking that she be allowed to care for the 10-year-old girl in her own home. Yet those who are familiar with the case wonder why the singer did not go to court sooner, as she was more than aware that her son, the girl's father, was also a heavy drug user.

It is uncertain whether the girl's mother or father will be attending rehab in the meantime.

If you are a grandparent who is hoping to obtain custody of your grandchild, it is important that you work with a Long Island family lawyer who is well-versed in grandparental rights. Contact the Meyers Law Group now to arrange your initial consultation with our attorneys.
