Economy Making Divorce Settlements More Complicated
A recent study conducted by a group of lawyers reveals that the economy is making divorce settlements more complicated.
While many people are having difficulty paying bills or even finding jobs in this tough economy, those couples that are considering divorce or are already divorced are also having troubles. The survey revealed that 85% of divorced respondents have cited trouble with housing debts as part of their divorce settlements.
In addition, 53% of respondents have cited the need to relocate, which always needs to be approved by a judge. However, just 23% of requests are actually granted by judges across the country. This can make it more difficult for parents who are already having trouble making child support payments, if they are unable to relocate to either save money or find a new job.
