Dog in the Middle of Divorce Settlement
Three women in New York have been fighting for two years since a divorce was finalized. What is the topic of contention? A goldendoodle.
According to court documents, the dog has been living with the sister of the divorced man for the past two years. When he and his ex-wife decided to get a divorce, she moved out of the family home with their teenage daughter, leaving the dog behind. The man asked his sister to help by watching the dog, which she has done ever since the divorce.
Now that the daughter has graduated from high school and is back in the state, she is demanding that the dog be returned. However, after taking care of the goldendoodle and another dog (which has since passed away,) including regular veterinarian visits and obtaining licenses for them, the woman believes that she has every right to keep the friendly pooch. The case will likely be heard this month in New York.
