Divorce Talks Lead to Homicide

The troubled history behind one marriage is slowly unfolding as the state attorney's office questions a man responsible for shooting and killing his wife.

Tragedy struck a community when a 22-year-old man shot and killed his 25-year-old wife in front of their two children and his mother. Police have worked with the attorney's office to learn more about the couple's troubled marriage, which is filled with horror stories and fear.

Allegedly, the wife wanted to leave her husband, but he insisted that she stay with him. He told his wife that he would strangle his wife if she tried to leave; to his mother, the man insisted that he would kill himself if she asked for a divorce.

Instead, he shot his wife in front of their two young daughters. Before she died, the wife wrote her husband a letter explaining why she wanted to divorce him. She even spoke with his mother about her intent to divorce stating that her husband had become too controlling.
