Officer Cover Up Domestic Violence

The New York Police Department is already dealing with the scandal of officers fixing tickets; it now seems that the scandal is turning out to be a serious reality for the department.

A secret probe was conducted by the internal affairs department, revealing thirty cops who were recorded without their knowledge. Thousands of hours of tape were recorded during which traffic violations were thrown out for family and friends, along with more serious crimes.

Of these, several domestic violence incidents involving off-duty police officers were taken care of before news of them could reach police headquarters. Some officers attempted to help other officers who would have been charged with drunk driving. Even worse, a few officers were overheard making arrangements for prostitutes.

Evidence collected during the massive probe is now being presented to a grand jury in Brooklyn. They will help determine what criminal charges should be placed on the thirty officers caught red-handed.
