Man Sells Cold Pills to Pay Child Support
In Arnold, it is reported that a man pled guilty in federal court to buying hundreds of boxes of cold pills and then selling the pills on the streets for the manufacturers of methamphetamines.
36-year-old Leonard Wilson admitted to buying more than 5,400 cold pills throughout hundreds of trips to Missouri area pharmacies. When asked why he was buying the cold pills and then selling them, Wilson said he was doing so to pay his bills and to pay child support.
According to authorities, officers used pharmacy records to track down Wilson's purchases. Police say that Wilson was able to sell the boxes for $50 or $60.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Winfield said, "What I do believe is that he knew that the pseudoephedrine he was purchasing was going to be used in the manufacture of meth." Now, Wilson is facing 10 years in federal prison for possessing huge amounts of pseudoephedrine and knowing that it would be used to make methamphetamine.
