Mother Tried to Abduct Daughter

A mother in Pasco County was arrested for attempting to abduct her own daughter. This followed a judge's ruling that she had lost complete custody of the 1 year old girl to the child's father. Cara Beavers, 23, was put into the Land O' Lakes Jail on the official charges of interfering with child custody orders.

Before she fled the area Beavers also tried to pick up her other daughter from a local daycare but staff members there were able to prevent her from doing so. Pasco deputies, helped by Tarpon Springs officers and Hillsborough deputies, were able to locate the young mother and her child at an unidentified home in Tarpon Springs. The little girl was in good health and immediately turned over to her waiting father.

Beavers is currently being held without bail and faces an additional charge of violating a domestic violence injunction that the grandmother of her daughter has against her.
