Woman Shot Over Child Custody Battle

This week, a woman was shot by her boyfriend, 37 year old Robert Reza.  Police say that the girl told her co-workers that she wanted to file a domestic violence report against Reza prior to the shooting.

According to officers, the shooting stemmed from issues related to child custody.  Reza entered a manufacturing plant where his girlfriend worked and opened fire.  He managed to kill four people and injure four others.

Police say that Reza met his girlfriend outside of the plant's office and 30 minutes later, he started shooting.  By the time police arrived, he had fired 20 rounds.

At this time, the girlfriend remains in the hospital where she is listed as being in critical condition.  Two others who were injured are receiving treatment at the University of New Mexico Hospital.
